Tomorrow I’m leaving for the US.
I’m going to Boston for the Embedded Systems Conference (www.embedded.com/esc/boston/).
I’ll be able to meet many people who work with embedded devices and I’ll have the opportunity to follow interesting tutorials.
I’m bringing with me my 770, in order to keep the contacts with the Old World (I’ll try to blog with it) and eager to show it to the conference participants.

Domani parto per gli Stati Uniti.
Vado a Boston per la ESC (www.embedded.com/esc/boston/).
Avrò l’occasione di incontrare molte persone che lavorano nel campo dei dispositivi embedded, e l’opportunità di partecipare a tutorials interessanti.
Porterò con me il mio 770, per rimanere in contatto con il Vecchio Mondo (proverò anche a bloggarci) e per mostrarlo ai partecipanti della conferenza.

Over the top

It’s true: I’ve not kept the promise made in my last post, and I was silent for more than one month.
But don’t worry: now I’m back!

My holidays in Italy were obviously pleasant, and in addition to meeting my friends and my relatives, I also had the opportunity to visit some wonderful places.
From the sea to the mountains, I tried to take all what the peninsula can offer, and even if the weather was not that great, I am back happy and satisfied.

For the first time in the human history an Internet Tablet went over 2000 meters: 2473 to be precise, at the “Cima d’Asta” lake in Trentino. Here is the proof:

I challenge anybody to demonstrate he managed to bring Nokia 770 higher.

The return to Espoo was soft and gradual, with the company of my parents who stayed in Finland for some days. They got the chance to try the original Finnish pizza: I hope this experience has increased their pity on me, for the difficult gastronomic conditions I have to bear.

I started again at work, and new challenges are coming: I’ll try to be focused…

E’ vero, non ho mantenuto la promessa del mio ultimo post, e sono stato in silenzio per più di un mese. Ma non vi preoccupate, perché ora sono tornato!

Le mie vacanze in Italia sono state naturalmente piacevoli, ed oltre a rivedere i miei amici e i miei cari, ho avuto la possibilità di visitare luoghi di estrema bellezza.
Dal mare alla montagna, ho cercato di prendermi un po’ tutto quello che la penisola può offrire, e anche se le condizioni atmosferiche non sono state ineccepibili sono tornato contento e soddisfatto.

Per la prima volta nella storia dell’umanità un Internet Tablet è andato sopra i 2000 metri: 2473 per la precisione, presso il lago di Cima d’Asta in Trentino, e sopra c’è la prova.
Sfido chiunque a dimostrarmi di aver portato il Nokia 770 più in alto.

Il rientro ad Espoo è stato morbido e graduale, con la compagnia dei miei genitori che si sono trattenuti in visita per qualche giorno ed hanno potuto così assaporare l’originale pizza finlandese: spero che l’esperienza fatta aumenti in loro il senso di compassione per le precarie condizioni gastronomiche in cui mi trovo a vivere quassù.

Il lavoro è ripreso e nuove sfide mi attendono: cercherò di mantenere la concentrazione…
