Lordi

Finland has just entered the history of the world song.
A Finnish rock band, Lordi, won last Saturday the 51st Eurovision Grand Prix, international song contest in which 24 different countries took part.
The usually calm Finns (maybe also eager to forget the new defeat at the Ice Hockey World Championship) poured out all their enthusiasm celebrating all night long.
I was waken up in my sleep by gleeful shouts; but at that very moment I didn’t really realize what was happening: I actually thought it was a nightmare or, to say it better, a dream.
Well, I have to say I’m a bit disappointed that now this group of monsters replaced the blonde sirens as a symbol of the Finnish beauty…

La Finlandia è entrata nella storia della canzone mondiale.
Un gruppo rock finlandese, i Lordi, ha infatti vinto sabato scorso il 51° Gran Premio dell'Eurovisione, concorso canoro internazionale a cui hanno partecipato 24 diversi Paesi.
I solitamente miti finlandesi (forse anche per dimenticare la nuova sconfitta ai mondiali di Hockey) hanno dato sfogo a tutto il loro entusiasmo festeggiando nella notte. Io stesso sono stato svegliato nel mezzo del mio sonno dalle grida di gioia. Ma lì per lì non è realizzato quello che stava succedendo: ho piuttosto pensato ad un incubo, o direi meglio ad un sogno.
Bè, devo dire che però mi dispiace un po’ che ora questo gruppo di mostri abbia rimpiazzato le bionde sirene come simbolo della bellezza finlandese…
